Note to self: You have proven that you can work yourself into a state of nervous exhaustion in any field you endeavor. Which would suggest that the problem is you, and not any of the types of work that you have attempted. So STOP IT already.
So, I've been putting in long, long days at work (for three insane deadlines, two of which I've met, and one of which I'm still working on). The reward? 3.5 days in Barcelona on my own recognizance (followed by two more days of actually working). Plus, it looks like I get my birthday off after all. Whoot!
I am really, really excited about going to Barcelona. I have tourist guides, and maps, and all kinds of things. And I won't have to look at a computer for five whole days in a row.
Because when your job involves sitting in front of a computer for 8+ hours / day, fiddling with little details until your eyes start to cross, coming home and starting your freelance job which involves more hours of sitting in front of a computer, fiddling with little details that make your eyes cross IS BAD. VERY, VERY BAD. (But it pays well...takes the edge off the pain of moving expenses, anyway.) [Yes, I did move months ago. Yes, I am still paying it off.]
